BRC Global Standard Food certificate is an international standard for food safety developed in the UK. BRC standard was developed to define and harmonize the requirements for food safety and quality. The standard defines the conditions to be met by the producer and supplier in order to ensure food safety and appropriate hygiene conditions in accordance with the legal requirements.
Implementation of the BRC standard is voluntary and guarantees that certified suppliers produce according to specified quality standards, which is confirmed by an independent certification body. Certification according to the BRC is an important element of the evaluation and qualification of suppliers on the retail market and network. Certification to the standard is recognized by the largest retail chains operating in the European and global markets.
